Elephants instead of bulldozers: how illegal homes are demolished in India

It turns out that not only people can destroy places of residence of wild animals, but also vice versa. So, in India, elephants took part in the demolition of illegal residential buildings in the Amchang Wildlife Refuge. Under the leadership of policemen and foresters, giants helped break down houses that invaded their territory. Who would have thought that elephants could be used as bulldozers so effectively.

However, not all illegal tenants watched peacefully as their homes were destroyed. Some protested and threw stones.

But no measures could stop the guardians of the law. As a result, about 300 families were evicted.

Not only were houses illegal, but even power lines. They also had to be demolished.

The effectiveness of "live bulldozers" is amazing.

It seems that animals even enjoy the collapse of human dwellings.

People so often oppressed them and occupied their territories that now they are happy to recoup.

Some evicted preferred to stay away and watch from a distance.

This is how the demolition of an illegal building takes place.

Elephant against the house, "head-on."

Of course, these are not solid stone buildings, but shacks of clay, sticks and palm leaves, which it is not difficult to break to the largest ground creation.

Amchang Nature Reserve is located in northeastern India and is a protected habitat for many elephants.

The column of "bulldozers" has completed its task and may return.
