China began construction of a unique "forest city"

China does not cease to amaze the world with its ambitious projects. This time the country began the construction of Forest City - a city in which there will be no problems with air pollution. Citizens will be in harmony with nature, while being in a quality and comfortable environment for living.

A place for the city of the future was chosen in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. Here, in the vicinity of Liuzhou, the construction of a city for 30,000 inhabitants has already begun.

Forest City was designed by the famous Italian company Stefano Boeri Architetti, which has already become the author of several skyscrapers covered with plants. The main role in the project belongs to a large number of woody vegetation, which is why the city got its name Forest city - "forest city". Amid high levels of air pollution in Chinese cities, projects that can solve this problem are gaining more and more popularity.

Forest City plans to plant about a million plants, including 40,000 trees. Such a huge number of plants, according to the designers, will be able to absorb up to 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide and produce about 900 tons of oxygen annually. At the same time, trees will grow not only in park areas, squares and around the perimeter of residential buildings, but also on the buildings themselves, being literally on the roof.

In addition to a significant effect on the purification of atmospheric air from polluting components, a large number of plants will help reduce air temperature. A surface covered with wood and shrubbery better copes with protection against overheating in hot weather than urban landscapes without plants.
