What is Shira Kotar

Shira-kotar (which in Russian means "Old Farm") is an ethnographic village in Chechnya with 40 houses (sakli) and deployed on the outskirts of the village of Germenchuk, Shali district.

Once here, you immediately plunge into the atmosphere of a classic Chechen aul of the 18th century, with the obligatory Vainakh watchtower 23 meters high.

Here, the provincial life of those times is reproduced in detail - from the hedge to the iron iron. What is called a time machine - mode on.

The roofs of houses in those days were mostly covered with straw, and the walls were finished in the form of huts.

There are three streets in the village, where in addition to the huts you can find a forge, a mill and many other characteristic artifacts, many of which are more than three hundred years old.

Some houses are more "advanced", and their roofs are tiled. For some time, a sensation suddenly arises not only of a temporary shift, but also of a spatial one. Judge for yourselves - this could certainly be seen in almost any part of southern Russia or Ukraine.

Remains of transport of those years.

Is this something like a cattle shelter?

A careful eye will find that among the things that fill these "canopies", there are many of our peers. But in general, the situation two hundred years ago is perfectly transmitted.

How do you like this curtain?

The idyllic picture was completely completed when a cat was found in the shadow of one of the wagons.

Utensil.

Here is the same mill in the form of a pair of millstones.

And the suitcase here clearly looks like a guest from the future.

We go inside one of the houses. This is a living room in all its splendor. The more carpets, the presumably, the higher the status of the owner of real estate.

The stove and ... What is it on the left? Not a table, not some kind of party, though too low.

Another "potbelly stove".

And such an instance, for example.

And how do you like the cradle for babies? In general, to everyone who (suddenly) ends up in those parts, I categorically recommend exploring the village. Visual history as it is.
