Magnificent interiors of modern temples from around the world
Thibault Poirier lives in Paris, but constantly overcomes small and large distances to capture the beauty of a wide variety of rooms. He removes the amazing symmetry of libraries around the world and explores the unique interiors of individual cities. His special talent is to demonstrate architecture in the most artistic way. Poirier’s latest Sacred Spaces project focuses on the most “delicate institutions” —churches.
But these are not just churches, but exclusively modernist temples, in search of which the photographer traveled around the globe. Poirier was particularly interested in the question of how these buildings represent modernity, while preserving the history and traditions of Christianity. Finding a balance in this matter, according to the Frenchman, is a very difficult task, because the church has to withstand constant changes while remaining attached to traditions and heritage.
