At the equator in The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

The Equator International Tourist Film Festival at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives is scheduled for September 6 and will last 3 days. The idea of this festival is to gather talented people with diverse interests and just guests from all over the world in one place. The first film festival was so successful that the hotel management decided to make it annual.

“Thanks to the participation of such famous people and their support, our event has acquired a very serious status, received a lot of feedback and great popularity among movie professionals, amateurs and hotel guests. This year we are determined to hold the event at a more serious and high level ", commented Ahmed Mohamed Siyyam, owner of the Maldivian brands SunSiyam and SunAqua.

This year's festival received a large number of applications for participation and the films themselves from around the world, which cover a wide variety of cultures and historical facts from different countries. The most unique ones were selected, which will be shown among various nominations, such as: Tourist destination, Cultural tourism, Environment and ecotourism, Adventure tourism, Ethnography and society, Water tourism, Hotels and resorts, Travel services and films covering traditional aspects. Amateurs and students will present documentaries and commercials.

The evening itself is conceived as an official event with an opening ceremony and an orange carpet (similar to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival). It will begin with master classes and continue with competitions among nominees, expert discussion and end with awards and a special closing ceremony.

The International Equator Film Festival brings together professionals and amateurs from all over the world who share one another’s passion for travel and a love of art. The film festival has become a platform for success and just an ideal place for communication.
