Recently, Norwegian park employees discovered hundreds of deer corpses on the field ...

At the end of summer, employees of Hardangervidda National Park in Norway had to endure a real shock. When they reached a rocky plateau, they found hundreds of corpses of deer on it. The reason for this terrifying picture is even more striking: the unfortunate animals were killed by a lightning strike! Thus, at the same time more than 320 individuals died here.

Workers suggest that the animals were frightened by a severe thunderstorm and strayed into a pile, so lightning struck a deer in a dense ring, killing everyone at once.

Animals were found within a radius of 50 meters.

Specialists note that this is a truly unique case: "We heard that animals die from a lightning strike, but we do not remember that lightning has ever killed animals in such numbers."

Earlier, the most massive death of animals was recorded in Australia in 2005, when 68 cows died from a lightning strike.

The exact cause of death of animals will be established after their remains are examined at a veterinary institute.
