10 common things for us that confuse foreigners

We have heard more than once about how hard it is for foreigners to understand the Slavs, our way of life, habits, deeds, and completely ordinary things for us. Among foreign residents there are myths and legends about the lifestyle of the Slavic peoples and Russian in particular. Even phenomena that are very ordinary for us are perceived by them as something exceptional, deserving of a separate story. Today we will present a whole list of such familiar things that shock foreigners.

Hidden Turnstiles

Foreigners are unaware of why we need to so insidiously and cruelly punish a person who tried to get into, for example, the subway for free.

Zelenka

All over the world they know that the green stuff so popular with us is full of harmful, carcinogenic substances. It is not used anywhere except in the post-Soviet space.

Entrance doors

According to the legend of foreigners, the doors opening inwards were made specifically to make it easier for the KGB to break them out.

Buckwheat

This cereal abroad can be found extremely rarely and only in specialized stores or on shelves with biofood.

Activated carbon

In fact, this drug is used all over the world, but nowhere does it look so frankly "coal" as ours. Usually people just swallow nice capsules with the contents.

Birch juice

Just believe: you should not offer foreign guests to try the juice extracted from the tree. This dumbfounds them.

Cucumber pickle

Canned cucumber liquid is used as a cure for a hangover exclusively in the countries of the former USSR. Foreigners have never even heard of this.

Metal cup holders

In fact, once their use around the world was due to the high cost of glassware. But those days have long sunk into oblivion. Everywhere, but not with us.

Fried seeds

For almost 2 centuries, this contagious and very addictive activity makes our people forget about all matters and problems.

Old New Year

Do not try to explain to a foreigner what kind of holiday it is and why it is needed. Just say that we love to have fun.
